Lions believe in the power of ordinary Australians to create strong, caring and compassionate communities, by working together. Lions help those with a disability, back up our emergency services, and are 100% committed to solving community problems. There are Lions Clubs in 1400 towns and cities around Australia, that find creative and innovative ways to do something to help those most in need.
Volunteering in Lions Clubs provides diverse opportunities in club leadership, training, membership development, youth projects, or in a range of practical projects as diverse as emergency relief, tree planting, catering, fundraising, running community events.
Every club is different and offers members not only the chance to help out, but to become involved in shaping and guiding the club in the longer term. It's not all work though. Lions Clubs are fun and social. Lions build lifelong friendships through their membership and participation. Available for men and women, young and old.
Here's a glimpse of our club working in partnership with our local community. We are a vibrant rural club with a growing membership of 13 active members and several friends of the club who help us with giving some of their leisure time to volunteer.
We all enjoy making a positive contribution in our local community in a fun and colaborative way as we serve the Bruthen and surrounds district through random acts of community service, support and participation in local events.
We understand life is very busy with family, work and other responsibilities however we welcome and encourage any community minded folk who would like to share some of your leisure time with us volunteering whenever you are available.
We have a wonderful mix of personalities in our newly reformed club and welcome you to participate as all our activities are open to everyone to participate.
Our members range from 40s to 60s with the average around mid fifties
Join and serve as member, or in a board role as a director, or other board vacancy.
One more member helps us to do more service in our community, at home and internationally
Membership is open to men and women over the age of 18 years and of good moral character and reputation.
Please contact our club, or follow the link to the expression of interest form on the Lions Australia website, and put this club in as your known Club.
